Holiday/Pajama Party

Every five Golden Awards a class earns, that class gets to choose how they would like to celebrate.  Our class voted and on Friday, December 21, we will be having a pajama party to celebrate earning our first five Golden Awards (We now have a total of 9- Mr. Hill gave the entire school an award for a great performance at last night's Winter Sing).  Also on Friday the 21st, we will be having a holiday party.  If any families would like to volunteer to bring in a drink or treat for the holiday party just let me know!

Camp Upham Fundraiser Reminder

Here is a reminder for 5th grade parents that the Camp Upham Fundraiser order forms and money are due this Tuesday, December 4th.

General Mitchell Giving Tree

General Mitchell's annual Giving Tree will be beginning Monday, December 3rd.  A red flyer was sent home today with all of the necessary information on it.  December 17th is the day all gifts need to be turned into the office, if you decide to participate.

New Math Unit: Fractions

Starting on Monday, students will begin their work on the Numbers and Operations - Fractions Unit. With the beginning of a new unit, students are regrouped based on their understanding of the topic. Using the results from their fall MAPS test, we will create new groups to ensure that instruction is delivered to each student at their instructional level. In some cases, students will be working with a different teacher. It is common for students to work with multiple teachers throughout the year. As with any topic or skill, there are areas of strength and areas of weakness. We will assure your student that the changes are made to give them the best opportunity for growth.
